The local journal "Gazzetta di Alba" describes how the project works and how it enables the user to stay connected through the TV device.
The pandemic crisis caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has put a strain on the organization and provision of social and health services, especially in isolated geographic areas characterized by objective difficulties of territorial and virtual connection. The uncontrolled spread of the virus has also had important repercussions on the mental and physical health of elderly and frail people, both direct, due to the virus itself, and indirect, due for example to the social distancing imposed.
The “SmartSatCare” project, coordinated by Amedeo Cesta (ISTC CNR), is dedicated to the development of telemedicine and tele-assistance technological solutions. The goal is to help citizens and socio-health workers to mitigate the consequences of the Covid-19 emergency in geographically vast and not easily served territories, such as that of the ASL CN2 of Alba / Bra (CN).
